The Society has a thriving Overseas Section which comprises over 30 overseas writers from countries as diverse as France, USA, Switzerland, Canada, Pakistan, and Israel.

PROFILE:

Betty Saunders, Ontario, Canada

Betty Saunders is one of our newer Canadian members. She lives in Ontario and was a teacher for many years, leaving the classroom to work on a daily newspaper specialising in Educational Services.

'It was the perfect job,' says Betty. 'I wrote teaching material, presented teacher workshops, and edited a weekly children's page.' She also gave classroom presentations which enabled her to interact with students once again.

Betty's work has been published in Canada and the UK, her most recent feature appearing in the Spring Special of People's Friend. The wife of a minister, Betty is currently writing a series of articles entitled Chronicles of the Manse - A Humorous Look at Life in a Parsonage.

Now retired, she and her husband have more time to pursue their hobbies, work in their garden, and just relax with a good book. They welcomed their seventh grandchild in early May.
