MEMBERS' CRITIQUE SERVICE The Society's Critique Service exists to offer help and advice to members on their work. The fee for submitting work is £20. Cheques should be made payable to the relevant critic, and critics are usually willing to negotiate a fee where members would like further critiques on longer work. You may send up to six poems, two short stories, or two articles – a maximum of 2,000 words, or the open chapter and synopsis of a novel or work of non-fiction. When submitting, PLEASE ENCLOSE a suitably sized and correctly stamped addressed envelope for return of your manuscript and critique(s). The critique team includes the following members : POETRY Fay Marshall is a widely published poet and prize winner. She has written how-to articles, run workshops and classes, and adjudicated various competitions. She is a former reviewer and editorial panellist, English correspondent for an Irish Literary quarterly and regional representative for the Poetry Society. She's won several prizes in national competitions, the most recent being third prize in the Petra Kenney Competition. She's run workshops and taught Creative Writing for the W E A. She's now Membership Secretary for Ver Poets, which has both local and postal members. She has had many stories published. She also writes all the literature for a medical charity. Wendy won the National Association of Writers Groups Award of Journalism, and her most recent success was a commended award in the Lady Violet Astor competition for the best published article in 2007/2008.
