Visit to Jane Austen House Museum

We are delighted to report that our second Celebration Programme for our 130th Year will be a visit to Jane Austen’s cottage in the historical village of Chawton, Hampshire. On the 10th July next, we will experience a journey into the Past, amongst rooms, furniture and pictures, which Jane would still recognise, as things she had used in her daily life.
Our guest speaker is Jessica Bull, whose novel Miss Austen Investigates has already been sold to eighteen countries nationally. She has also kindly agreed to judge our Austen Competition, the prize for which, will be a copy of her novel, generously provided by Jessica’s publishers Penguin Michael Joseph
