In this, our 125th anniversary year, we will be holding our AGM at a very special venue – the House of Lords! The meeting on 9 September will give members the opportunity to find out what’s happening within the society and what’s being planned for the future, elect the next Council, ask questions, and welcome our new Chairman, Rebecca Harding.
The AGM will be followed by tea and a guided mini-tour of the House of Lords, hosted by our President, Baroness Floella Benjamin.
Places are limited, so get your ticket requests in early. The booking form can be downloaded from our Diary page and will also be in the Summer issue of The Woman Writer, coming soon.
Check out our Diary page for other events happening over the coming months, including a visit to Chawton House, an author talk by Vaseem Khan, drama and poetry workshops, and a lovely anniversary lunch meeting in Chichester, with our 2019 celebrations culminating in the Christmas Tea on 5 December – always a popular and enjoyable get-together.
And don’t forget to enter the Floella Benjamin Trophy open writing competition, closing on 31 August, with £200 and a year’s free swwj membership to the winner.
