The Concert Artistes Association in Bedford Street London was the venue for this year’s Christmas Gathering and Prize giving, on December 6th.
Professor Christopher Mulvey presented the Clemence Dane trophy to Benita Cullingford, Val Dunmore, Sylvia Kent and Mary Rensten in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the SWWJ.
Vivien Brown presented the Elizabeth Longford Rose Bowl for Poetry to the winner, Alice Fowler.
The judge was Fiona Larkin, the theme was ‘Break’.
Dr Carol Cooper presented the John Walter Salver to the winner, Jenny Worstall, for her entry on ‘Medcine’.
After lunch Dr Carol Cooper gave a talk, with fascinating details of her life as a medical student, GP, and latterly novelist.
Another resounding success, hosted by the SWWJ.
